Cade's making a come back

Cade's first few weeks in Kindergarten have been a bit rocky but I think he is finally coming around! Cade has always been very laid back and I think that his instant sister has put a kink into his tiny world, but like everyone else he has to adjust. Before Lila came home Scott warned me that "Jake was going to have a hard time sharing me with her" and I told him I thought it would be Cade that had more of an issue and unfortunately I was right. I really wanted everyone to meet and fall in love and live in harmony( yes just like in fairy tales or "The Brady Bunch") but I knew that was not going to happen. Overall, I think everything has fallen into place amazingly and I know Cade's sweet heart will overcome him very soon. Cade had done much better at school this week and has even taken extra efforts to make his coloring projects beautiful. He came home today very excited to show me his self-portrait and his 100% on his work. Cade is such a great kid and hope one day he can understand what a differnce he made in Lila's life. Let's face it, being a big brother is a big job!!!

Perfect Smile

Jake had a fab dental visit today. They were impressed at the great job Jake is doing keeping his teeth clean and healthy!!! Jake and I were also very happy to see confirmation that he does have adult teeth making their way down. Jake has not lost a tooth yet and will be 7 in Dec. He has been worried that he would never get a loose tooth! The x-rays reveal that his permanent teeth are HUGE (he got my horse teeth) and they hope his mouth will be able to handle all of those big teeth. Let's hope he won't need to get any pulled down the line. The tech said he did just a super job and loved having his teeth cleaned. I tell ya, Jake has really grown up and I am so proud to see the changes in him!!! No pics at the dentist sorry.

The weekend update

Sorry so late on the weekend post. Scott's big 38 b-day was Sat so we got up and took the kids to the Air Show and looked at the planes for 5 mins until we stumbled onto Moon Bounce Wonderland. There were about 12 different Moon Bounces/Slides/Mazes etc so our time amazed the the planes tricks were over. So I guess you realize we spent the rest of our time trying to chase and keep up with 3 kids! Happy B-day Scott!!!
Lila was very hestitant at first and I'm pretty sure they didn't have moon bounces at her orphange. I put her in the bounce and she didn't move for a while but then the fun started and she was jumping with the rest of them as I watched nervously from the sidelines. She was always the smallest in there and kids were flying everywhere. The kids liked getting inside the Airplane Carrier so that was really the only pics fromt he air show. On Sat night Scott and I went on a date (I guess that was what it is called), it has been far too long that we have done anything alone so we went to the horse track and bet a little on the horses. I had never been to "the Track" and was surprised how much fun it was. After the betting was done we watched the beloved Bulldogs take yet another win. So all in all it was a nice weekend.
Jake has a dentist appt on Thursday I want to make sure he has other teeth in his head because he has NOT lost his first tooth as of yet and he will be 7 in three months! I will let you know how that play out and until then take care!

Jake the Great!!!

We are so happy to announce that Jake T Stark has received his second 100%on his spelling test !!! He is doing really great as a First Grader and we could not be prouder of him. Tomorrow morning we will be getting up early and making our way to the Wal-Mart toy department to purchase the must desired Backagun(sp)for our spelling leader. He has saved 6 dollars and was gifted 5 from Gigi & Pop-pop for his outstanding achievements. I will be adding pic tomorrow with Jake and his prize. Jake just proves that labels DO NOT mean a thing and they DO NOT define a persons abilities in life!! He is awesome, amazing and just a beautiful kid and most of all we love him for being Jake!!!!!

Who wears the pants in this family????

Our house is so filled with exciting things to do that my kids take turns wearing Scott's pants for fun!! After they wore them on their legs they put them on their heads and tired to walk around. We are a very advanced family!!! On to other news...Things did not go as planned for the fun weekend with Grandaddy and Ms.Karen. Lila had such a great 1st day at school that the next day she had a fever and her poor lips were transformed into one HUGE fever blister! So Lila went to the doctor Thur, Fri & a trip to the ER Sat morn. They said that she has been exposed to a virus and there is nothing that can be done for it and it will get better on it's own.I have never had a fever blister much less my entire lips surface to crack and bleed! we will just say it's the saddest thing you've ever seen. Ms happy go lucky was not to happy and could not enjoy her favorite pass time of eating! So Grandaddy had to meet his new granddaughter for the first time not at her best, but that didn't stop her at all from falling for her Grandaddy! She just loved Frank and despite her deformity she trudged on and had fun. I also wasn't feeling well and taking care of my little patient who wasn't sleeping well(AT ALL) didn't help me. So as the pathetic daughter-in-law that I am I failed to take many pictures of this event and sure regret it now. Though I did get a great shot of Lila and Frank's legs!! Frank also gave Lila an adorable little frog necklace. It is her first gift of jewelry and very special. The kids had the best time in 2 boxes that some chairs were delivered in. Lila's lips are still not great(85%) but I sent her back to school today since it's been a week and hope she doesn't bring home any other contaminates.By the way these pics of Lila are pre-lip explosion she does not wish this time to be documented. My lips are praying they do not have to suffer that same fate!!!

Our girls First day of School!!!

Today was Lila's first day of Pre-School at Wee Disciples(an adorable little church based school that goes up to 2nd grade)! I was so excited for her this morning until I had to leave and she looked a bit confused and it didn't help that many of the kids were crying for their moms. I told her "I'll would be back in a little while so have fun" and I left before she saw me about to cry. The last thing I would ever want her to think was that I would ever leave her.I went to the grocery store alone which was strange and even stranger that I didn't even go near the doughnuts!!! When I got home I still had 45 min until time to leave and pick her up so I waited 30 mins and left just to make sure I made it the 3 miles on time. I sat in the car for a few mins and made my way into the building to find I wasn't the only mom running early.
She came out with a big smile and all her teachers were just going on about how "great she did, what a doll, she is such a super snacker"(I should have warned her that food is her friend) and on and on they just love her already(Find someone who doesn't!!!!).She also said Lila is the smallest in the class but she is not intimidated by anyone and wants to be involved in everything going on. Her back pack looks huge on her but it is only 13" tall she really wanted the full size "Hello Kitty" pack but it was as tall as her so she settled to the "Littlest Pet Shop" with kitties on it! Just don't know what we did to deserve such a beautiful, bright, fabulous etc.... daughter!!!!

Weekend update

Friday was just beautiful so we gathered up some friends ordered pizza and hung out on the deck. I want to take every chance I have to be outside because I know the chill is coming! Lila and the boys fought over who's turn it was on Ian's John Deer tractor. I didn't think Lila would get the hang of driving so fast but of course she did and decided no one would get between her and her tractor ( just kidding she is learning to take turns very well!) though it does seem like she is trying to run over Jake.
On Sunday afternoon the kids we overly excited to "hangout" in Dad's truck while he cleaned it up a bit and got it ready to his Monday restroom delivery. I couldn't get them to come out! I wish I had a truck in the house to keep them that entertained! All in all it was a nice weekend and Frank aka Grandaddy & Karen will be coming for a visit this week so we are all looking forward to spending time with family!Tomorrow is Lila's first day of Pre-school so I will let you know how much she loved it!! We had to buy her her own umbrella so she didn't keep wanting to use Cade's and it does not help the situation between the 2 if Lila looks, touches or thinks about borrowing Cade's possessions!! So Princess Barbie it is!

Labor Day

Scott and Cade got home late Saturday night and we were all happy about that. So we didn't have any plans for Labor Day and just decided to grill out some sea bass Scott caught and do some fireworks to celebrate. The kid's big excitment was spinning each other in the deck chairs followed by popsciles ( oh when life was simple!). Lila was helping us with the prep work and I just love this pic of them. So overall we had a very relaxing day.
